Well it is possibly not quite the case, there are instances where waterbased inks will not be suitable for a job, there are more issues to be dealt with here, screen printers are not lazy in my experience, usually under pressure and working to tight margins it is all about being able to survive in an ultra competitive market.

All the pros are for the costumer, while the negatives only affect the printer. To me, although not a printer myself, that sounds like it is just laziness on the printers part. It is quite clear that water based t shirt printing is best for the consumer, and that should be priority number 1.
